The National Institutes of Health  (NIH) reports that over 24 million adults in the United States struggle with a substance use disorder (SUD) that does not involve alcohol. This figure represents nearly 10% of the nation’s adult population. The chronic misuse of prescription opioids, fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabis, benzodiazepines, and other substances can lead to catastrophic effects on individuals, families, and communities. At Restored Life, we specialize in treating all forms of substance use disorders. Our tailored recovery programs focus on the holistic needs of each individual, equipping you with the necessary tools to reclaim a life free from drugs.

Multiple Substance Use Disorders

Individuals struggling with one substance use disorder face an increased risk of developing additional disorders, and this often occurs. Research indicates that approximately half of those who commence addiction treatment are dealing with dependence on two or more substances, alongside a diagnosis of substance use disorder involving multiple substances.

There are various pathways leading to the disordered use of multiple substances; regardless of how one arrives at this point, the reality is that chronic use of multiple substances amplifies the negative physical, emotional, and psychological repercussions of drug addiction. The consequences can be severe, potentially leading to overdose and even death.

If you find yourself misusing two or more substances, we are here to help. For decades, we have supported individuals facing this diagnosis, and we can assist you too.

We have come to realize that all of that is untrue: addiction is, in reality, a medical disorder.

Recent advancements in neuroscience reveal that addiction alters brain function. Prolonged exposure to addictive substances results in significant impairments in crucial brain activities. As individuals become increasingly entrenched in substance misuse, their ability to make sound decisions, regulate their impulses, and accurately foresee the consequences of their actions wanes. The brain, which should serve as their most potent ally against addiction, ironically transforms into a hindrance.

We assist individuals in resetting their brains – and rediscovering their true selves in the journey.

We empower them to unearth their inner resilience, relearn essential coping mechanisms for managing stress and navigating challenging emotions, and guide them toward a fulfilling life once more – free from drugs.
